Solar Orbiter is a collaborative mission between the European Space Agency (ESA) and NASA, with the goal of studying the Sun and its impact on the space environment. Launched in February 2020, Solar Orbiter is designed to observe and study the Sun at close range, providing new insights into solar activity and phenomena such as solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and the solar wind. The spacecraft is equipped with a suite of instruments to measure various aspects of the Sun, including magnetic fields, solar radiation, and solar wind particles. By studying the Sun up close, Solar Orbiter aims to improve our understanding of how solar activity affects Earth and other planets, as well as the broader solar system.
